Back to what I know

I've been delivering for Uber by motorbike, and the difference in my income has changed dramatically and noticeably. I now typically Uber for about 2-4 hours each evening and consistently make between £45 and £70 during that time. I've been taking more evenings off than I used to, which allows me to enjoy some much-needed time to myself. With the increased income and the extra free time I've gained, it has provided a new perspective on working and truly made the experience enjoyable again. While it may not be significantly faster than delivering on my bike, it has granted me the opportunity to accept longer orders. For instance, I can start the evening with a £15 order that takes me about 30 minutes to complete. This is nearly four times as much as I was earning on my bike back in November and I can achieve that amount in just one order during an evening.

I am genuinely looking forward to the upcoming holidays when I can truly observe the significant difference in my income. This period will also give me a clearer understanding of whether it's feasible to work full-time as a delivery driver. Additionally, I am eager to see if the individuals who have committed to this profession on a full-time basis are actually making a decent wage or merely scraping by with their earnings.

I have also signed up to work with JustEat during the challenging period when I was unable to break through the seemingly impenetrable wall of no assistance that has become characteristic of the new way Uber operates. During this time, I will make sure to add a comprehensive analysis of the differences in pay and order dynamics between the two platforms on this blog as well. So, please stay tuned for those insights and updates!
