Have I been sacked?

So where do I even start? It is early April and as the weather is picking up I have started to do more hours delivering. I got a decent order through and it was picking up a maccies and taking it to the other end of town. As I left McDonalds and got down the road a little bit I found that my tyre was completely flat and I had no spare to change. I was “Lucky“ enough that someone I know had driven past and offered me a lift to take the food to the drop off then take me to get an inner tube sorted. I had sorted all that out and continued with my evening as normal. Throughout the evening there were a lot of orders coming through that were not suitable for my bike but paid very well for the order. Due to this I then started to look at getting an electric bike so that I can maybe do some of them orders. The evening went fairly normally but due to a new update on the app the in app map was temperamental and either not loading, sending me the wrong way or giving me the wrong drop off points when giving me trips to pick. This was extremely frustrating but I cracked on and prevailed.

The next day I woke up to a message from Uber stating that I was not doing my deliveries on my bike and that I have 2 weeks to sort it out. I was baffled as it was only one delivery and how did they know unless the customer complained. I continued for a couple days on the road bike before getting lent an electric bike to try. It was brilliant, I was taking food all over the place and did a pretty good job at making sure I hadn’t let myself run out of charge as the bike was cheap and so heavy. I had done this for a couple days before receiving another message from Uber saying that my cycling account has been locked as I have continued to deliver in a motorised vehicle and that the change could not be reverted back. Well this was not the case and due to Uber making it so that the drivers cant call the support team unless they have achieved gold level I was unable to get any of the help to resolve my issue. For 2 weeks I tried to sort my issue out via their text support but would often be met with “we are unable to help you with this issue please use the in app help“ which is about as much use as a jarred fart.

I then tried to register with my motorbike but was finding that they were not accepting my licence however there did not appear to be any reason for it to be denied and again I tried to contact support to no avail and this continued for a further 3 weeks.

After the update to the app it has become extremely difficult to get any support from Uber, it is like getting sweat from a unicorn. I was ready to give up and do something else until one day I got someone on the chat support that actually tried to help rather than hang up on me in a sense as people previous would tell me to revert to the help. I asked him if my account had been blocked and there was silence for a good half day before he got back to me but thanks to this support member though I was able to get my documents uploaded and within a couple days I was back at Maccies.
